Participation

Thank you for taking a moment to read about how you and your organization can get involved in Homecoming 2017!

On this website you will find all the necessary information needed to enter all the different events going on during Homecoming Week.

Homecoming is not only a chance for the UConn Community at large to celebrate our University, but is also a chance to showcase your student organization and your value to UConn.

Please read each section carefully, there are some MAJOR changes this year!

The goal of Homecoming at the University of Connecticut is to maximize participation by all students and student organizations. All organizations, university supported/fee funded organizations and clubs that are registered and in good standing are urged to participate.

Each organization will be competing in categories for each event— Attached to this section are the point calculations that each group can earn and how your organization earns points

Teams will compete in the events based on their total size.

  • Above 50 Members Total
  • Under 50 Members total

SUBOG has also added a Non-Competition category for the events of Homecoming Week. As a team participating under this classification, you do not have to follow all of the guidelines that apply to teams that will be competing. This means that you do not need a theme but can choose one if you so desire. However, all rules in regards to safety and risk prevention must be adhered to.

Participating in the Non-Competition category eliminates the stress that comes along with the competition aspect and the amount of time and funds it takes to participate in more than two or all of the events. This is a wonderful way for organizations to spread their enthusiasm for their club and University.

SUBOG is encouraging any registered organization to consider participating in this year’s Homecoming week. It is a great way to bring your organization together while recruiting new members all at the same time. Show some husky pride and join us to help bring the UConn community together in a fun and inclusive way!
