Judging Information

The Student Union Board of Governors (SUBOG) asks for your assistance in judging the 2016 Homecoming events during the weeks leading up to, and the week of Homecoming (October 15th to October 21st ). UConn’s Homecoming gives student organizations an opportunity to build spirit, work as a team and show their pride for their organization. They all come in with such high levels of enthusiasm, creativity and talent! We would greatly appreciate your consideration in volunteering as a judge to help uphold these long-standing UConn traditions with SUBOG.

There are numerous events that our students participate in during Homecoming.  Many of these events are competitive and require judges.  Therefore, assistance from within the community is very important to the success of these events. We are looking to assemble a team of judges from a variety of places around campus, that represent the uniqueness and overall diversity that UConn has to offer.

Below are brief descriptions of the events that SUBOG is asking for your assistance with. Additionally, each event has 3 checkboxes, “First Choice, Second Choice, and Third Choice” – please feel free to indicate the order of events you would like to be a judge. Unfortunately, space is limited for the number of judges we are able to have at each event.  If you have questions, please do not hesitate to email Kyle.Neary@UConn.edu, or leave a comment in the feedback area on our form. Additionally, if you have any other information pertaining to your ability to volunteer, please share it in the feedback/comment box. Thank you!

The events we need judges for are for the Parade which is on Sunday October 15th, Pageant & Alma Mater sing on Tuesday October 17th, and Banners which will be hung from October 15th until October 21st. Additionally, we will need some assistance in preliminary elimination rounds for the Alma Mater Elimination at a time TBD and Pageant Royal Tea on October 3rd.
