Homecoming Events

Welcome to the 2024 Homecoming Events Page! Homecoming will be happening at UConn from October 20th to the 26th. This year, we've got a great combination of your favorite traditional events, combined with some fun new ways to show your husky spirit.

Banners

As a member of a participating team:

  • Work with your team to decorate a Homecoming Banner & submit your banner to the Student Activities front desk (SU 308) before the deadline.
  • View your banner as it’s displayed in the SU North & South Lobbies throughout Homecoming week.
  • Attend Lip Sync to hear the Homecoming Banners winners announcement.

As a non-participating student:

  • View the Homecoming Banners in the SU North and South Lobbies throughout Homecoming week.
  • Attend Lip Sync to hear the Homecoming Banners winners announcement.

Parade Build

As a member of a participating team:

  • If you’re a Float Unit in the parade, arrive at 1pm to decorate your golf cart that serves as your team’s parade float.
  • If you’re a Marching Unit, this is not applicable. Your team should arrive between 3:30-4pm for parade check-in.

As a non-participating student:

  • This event is not applicable unless you are participating as a Float Unit in the parade.

Parade

As a member of a participating team:

  • Check your team in at the Field House parking lot between 3:30-4pm. If you’re a Float Unit, make sure the driver of the golf cart has their driver’s license on hand for check in.
  • Follow directions of the SUBOG volunteer at check in regarding your team’s order in the parade & get lined up in the appropriate order.
  • When the parade kicks off, follow the route to the end & feel free to stop in front of the judges table to show off your team’s spirit and pride.
  • Follow directions of the SUBOG volunteer at the end of the route, clean up your golf cart, if applicable, and go enjoy the Homecoming Carnival!

As a non-participating student:

  • Observe the parade along Fairfield Way to see student organizations, Marching Band, and the iconic husky balloon march through campus showcasing their UConn pride.
  • Follow the parade to the end of the route & head to Homecoming Carnival afterwards!

Carnival

As a member of a participating team:

  • There are no competition aspects of the Homecoming Carnival. Simply enjoy the rides & food with your friends!

As a non-participating student:

  • Enjoy carnival rides, food trucks, and more on Founders Green after the Homecoming Parade!

Lewberger Comedy Show

Lewberger is a comedy band that’s been on America’s Got Talent and Bring the Funny.

As a member of a participating team:

  • There are no competition aspects of the Lewberger Comedy Show. Show up to Jorgensen with your Student ID & enjoy the show!

As a non-participating student:

  • Show up to Jorgensen with your Student ID & enjoy the show!

Lip Sync

As a member of a participating team:

  • Prepare a lip sync routine with your team & perform in front of a panel of judges and your peers in a fun-filled, high energy night
  • Be sure to complete all required forms & attend the Lip Sync Production Meetings to secure your performance.

As a non-participating student:

  • Head to Gampel and be prepared for a lot of entertainment and laughs from your peers.
  • Watch as each Homecoming team puts on their Lip Sync performance & wait until the end to hear winners for the night announced!

Fan Fest Friday

As a member of a participating team:

  • Come with your team ready to compete in some nostalgic field day games (tug of war, relay race, cup stack, etc.) to earn more points towards your Homecoming score.
  • Be sure to wear sneakers & follow all safety rules and regulations around the event.
  • After you’re done competing, feel free to enjoy the additional elements of the event!

As a non-participating student:

  • Come out to Founders Green to celebrate the end of Homecoming week and get excited for the Homecoming Football game! Enjoy watching the Homecoming teams compete & the additional elements of the event.
  • This event will feature the Hops 44 food truck, yard games, inflatables, caricatures, airbrush, and more!
